The world is a wilderness; your life a river.
The world is a wilderness. It has been there for as long as we can remember, yet, compared to the vastness of time, it’s nothing but a speck of dust resting on the eternally expanding palm of the universe. It’s been there for as long as we can remember, and yet it could also disappear in a blink of an eye, especially nowadays, mostly due to our doing.
Your life is a river. There are various (and usually, rather unwanted) twists and turns, with occasional instances of encountering extremely pointy rocks, vicious crocodiles, and sometimes—for the really unlucky—even river monsters, who managed to bump into swamp monsters at the coffee shop this morning and decided to invite them over to help ruin your life. Yes, you’d have to endure all that during your journey. But do not fret, along the way, in the middle of all that chaos, fear, anger, frustration and utter aggravation, you will be accompanied by a higher power. Plus, there are the few masters of life you will meet along the way, to help the guide you through the enigmatic maze of the wilderness. Good thing there are a few good things that still make the trip down the river a worthwhile ride after all. At the end of that long journey will exit at the sea, and witness the glistening deep blue eyes of the ocean waiting patiently for you arrival. There, you will journey into the abyss, where you will finally be at one with the universe.
